Change is not easy.
Recently, I have been teaching two classes at Bethel University on Organizational Change in a Changing World. When most people see the words, "Organizational Change", the natural tendency is to think about the entire organization or company, or maybe the department or group that they are associated with. The actual definition of "Organizational", however, is not about the group; it is about the individual. Organiztion, is about, well, the organization. Therefore, Organization Change and Organizational Change are two vastly different topics to consider, when trying to implement change.
Organizational is about the individual and personal accountability. It is about the knowledge, or ability, or role of a person to bring about change. Organization is more global and systemic, and meant to impact the entire base.
I share this brief breakdown because unless we look inward first, at the person God created us as, and to be, change can't happen. Looking outward, without changing what's inside, only leads to failed change and frustration. My goal is to help each person look to be all that they can be, all that they were created to be, and how they can be a part of, and a leader in the change that they see.
